Time to Get Organized
Time to Get Organized
This year, grades 2-6 will once again have daily planners to keep them organized. This year, the theme is the 7 -Habits. This theme is based on Sean Covey's best-selling book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens and adapted to the elementary aged student. These planners are designed to promote positive character development by encouraging students to think ahead, control their actions and attitudes, set goals, and build strong interpersonal relationships. As you may also notice the front and back covers support our Bully-Free Zone here at Ha'aheo Elementary School. Last year, the planner's theme was Bullying Prevention and we want to continue to send the message that Bullying behavior is not tolerated at Ha'aheo Elementary School.
Parents are encouraged to look through your child's planner for lots of family activities and information about our school as well as how to help your child build the 7-Habits. On the bottom right hand corner of each page their is a "Family Connection" activity that families can do together.
The month of August focuses on Paradigms and Principles: What we also refer to as Values and Beliefs. Will be talking about Values and Beliefs in our guidance lessons.
If you have any questions about the planners or classroom guidance lessons, please feel free to contact me - Maile Young, School Counselor/SSC.
